The city by the lake
I am not taking abt any beautiful picturesque city with the refection
of snow clad hills in the lake and tourist flocking for a weekend
break..
I am taking abt our national capital.. Yes
Those of u who r familiar with this city.. This home to thousands..
This culturally, socially and economically diverse city.. Will ask where
this lake is??
To them i will politely smile and request them to visit the erstwhile
fields next to the akshardham temple. Next to the cwg village..
These fields were an eyesore.. They were cultivated upon by the poor
the oppressed by those who were shunned by city and had to resort to
this unpopular occupation( ie in
The organizers of the cwg were worried that such big fields would not
be liked by our esteemed guests.. They thought abt wat could b done
abt this Land in the short notice of only 5 years and with a small
buget of ------cr..
The planners. Specially the h bl mr kalmadi.. Took it upon them selves
to do something abt this. They started praying.. Day n night.. night
and day they prayed..
When one prays so sincerely how can god not grant them their wish.. 2
weeks before the cwg god gave his blessings in the form of heavy
continuous and beautiful raindrops. That made this barren piece of
land into a beautiful lake.. One that feeds on the hard earned crops
of the farmers.. The old tees that ruled this land were now slaves of
the water..having to add to the beauty of this lake..
The lake then breaded the world most efficient carriers the dengue
mosquito. Which hav now become the pride of our country
5 years later some athlete will think abt the city where the mosquitoes
bit him.. Where all his efforts were destroyed his stamina ruined..
Oh that city by the lake.. The beautiful city by the lake..
a boring metro ride...makes me go mad..:)
ReplyDeletei love my city..
ReplyDeletebut i dont like the cwg the entire drama.. the never ending corruption.. the continuous blame game..
ps writing in the metro is fun..
